Welcome to American Nine Footers,

American 9 Footers is a league like no other. We emphasize the importance of convenience and variety in bringing you the most enjoyable billiard league on the planet.

That’s right, a league where you can play anytime that accommodates your schedule. “How does this work?” you might ask. Allow me to explain.

There is a one-time fee of $125 at the beginning of each session. Players are handicapped based on their skill levels in other leagues and/or known ability. Players are then placed into different divisions with skill levels evenly distributed therein. You are assigned one opponent per week via the “Schedule” tab on your online account. You and your opponent correspond with one another via contact information on the schedule tab, mutually agree on a time that works best for both of you, and play your match wherever is convenient. The only requirement is that the match be played on a 9 foot table. It can be the local pool hall, a dive bar with a 9 foot table deluged in vodka, or someone’s basement. Seriously, it doesn’t matter. You and your opponent will then play a race and enter your scores into the website.

The format is 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, 8 ball, 9 ball, 10 ball, 8. . . so on and so forth. One game each, rotating through until one player reaches their respective number of games won. The goal is to keep each player on their toes while strengthening each player’s abilities in multiple disciplines. The rotating format also allows each player’s strengths and weaknesses to balance out throughout the duration of the match. Head over to the “Rules” tab near the top of the page to learn more!

Each session is roughly 12 weeks long depending on the total members. Each session consists of two periods: (1) the regular season and (2) the playoffs. Those in the top few of their divisions during the regular season qualify for the playoff bracket. This number will vary session-to-session depending on the total number of members. It will typically be the top 3 or 4. The playoff bracket awards hefty cash prizes at each stage. The remaining players receive money back at a rate proportional to where they placed. Everyone gets money back! We typically host a tournament for all at the end of each calendar year!
